The Club
The Swash & Buckle Fencing Club was founded in 1992 by William Hobbs, film and theatre Fight Director.
Our Patron is Gene Wilder,
the Hollywood actor and director.
Originally set up as a breakaway from an Equity-only fencing club, it now welcomes members from beyond the acting profession. From time to time well-known actors still attend to brush up their swordfighting skills prior to filming or stage work.
Based in Westminster, we have one of the best fencing venues in London, offering a large modern sprung-floor gym, showers and changing rooms.
Swash & Buckle prides itself on its friendly welcoming atmosphere, and high standard of coaching. Members organise regular social events - we recently celebrated our twelfth swash&buckle wedding this year! People come to the club from all walks of life and we value our diversity.
